Did You Know?

A recent study 'For Love or Money? A Study of Entrepreneurship in Canada' reports that when asked the primary reason for choosing self employment, the answer was 'To do something they love' - in spite of on the average working 15 hours (56) a week more than employees and also making $5,000 ($38,000) less.

The 10-Second Biz Bite

Topic: Limiting Beliefs

Watch for next Month’s 10 Second Biz Bite on the topic of ‘Persistence’

Limiting beliefs often sound like ‘I can’t’, ‘I have to’, ‘It is impossible to’ and leave you with no or few choices or alternative possibilities and are therefore disempowering.

Your mind is very good at hiding limiting beliefs from you. How often do you begin a thought with ‘I am’, ‘People are’, or ‘The world is’?

Consider the following:

  • Your inner critic's opinion is generally based in a limiting belief.

  • A decision may appear to be black and white to you, or an either/or situation.

  • You have decided that "this is the way the world is."

  • You make a decision based on fear.

Once you have identified them, limiting beliefs must be challenged every time they rear their heads. Question them, counter them - is the opposite possible? Redirect your brain. Combine the process of visualization with writing positive affirmations. Seek positive people....or when was the last time you enjoyed an inspirational book or tape?

Remember beliefs are the assumptions we make about ourselves, about others in the world and about how we expect things to be. Limiting Beliefs are when you think you cannot change something. It takes courage to leave the comfort zone of limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs need to be changed, replaced or discarded!

I look forward to your thoughts and comments! Send to info@victoriabusinesstalk.com
